At Relay, census dates are the last day in any term when you can re-enroll, transfer locations, change your program or major, or exit Relay with 100% of tuition discharged for the term. There are academic and financial implications for taking action after the census date versus on or before the census date. Please review the table below for highlights of those implications. |
- If you were enrolled in the immediate prior term your balance must be $500 or less to return. If you were not enrolled in the immediate prior term your balance must be $0 to return.

- You can no longer enroll in the current term; your application will be considered for the next term.

Transfer to a new program or location
|
- If you were enrolled in the immediate prior term your balance must be $500 or less to return. If you were not enrolled in the immediate prior term your balance must be $0 to return.

- You can no longer change your program or location to be effective for the current term. A transfer can be considered for the upcoming term.
|
Changing major/Area of Study
|
- This will be considered for the current term. Courses may change.
- Your financial aid package and/or federal aid eligibility may be impacted due to the change.
|
- You can no longer change your major/area of study. You must wait until the next term and remain in current courses.
|
Taking a leave of absence or withdrawing
|
- No courses appear on your transcript from that term.
- Financial aid and tuition will be removed from the current term. Any active tuition from prior terms, including any unpaid tuition from unearned pending awards, will be payable through a 12-month installment plan.

- You will receive “W” for all courses in that term to indicate the withdrawal.
- Any active tuition from current and prior terms, including any unpaid tuition from unearned pending awards, will be payable through a 12-month installment plan.

Taking a leave of absence for compelling personal circumstances
|
- No courses appear on your transcript from that term.
- Student billing for compelling personal circumstances is reviewed on a case-by-case basis for prior term active tuition and any unpaid tuition from unearned pending awards.

- You will receive “W” for all courses in that term to indicate the withdrawal.
- Student billing for compelling personal circumstances is reviewed on a case-by-case basis for current and prior term active tuition and any unpaid tuition from unearned pending awards.
