Students can sign up for a payment plan for any amount, including less than their out of pocket cost for the term. It is up to each student to determine how much of their out of pocket costs they want to pay in installments.
For example, a student with a $3600 out of pocket cost for Spring may want to make a one time payment of $1800 immediately through Minerva, then sign up for a payment plan for the remaining $1800 balance in order to lower their monthly payments. After the one time payment of $1800, monthly payment plan installments for this student would be $450.
Another student may want to put their entire out of pocket cost on the payment plan, so this Spring balance of $3600 would mean 4 payments of $900 each.
Students are encouraged to reference their award letter for out of pocket costs for each term before deciding on how much or how little they should place into a payment plan. If you have any questions about what amount is right for you, feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org!
