Will I receive detailed feedback on my submission?
No, Pearson does not provide qualitative feedback. Your score report will indicate your score on each rubric and a cumulative score. For more information on interpreting your score report, please reference this document: http://www.edtpa.com/Content/Docs/edTPA_InterpretingYourProfile.pdf
What scores do I need to pass the edTPA?
Passing scores vary by state and handbook area. Each edTPA task has 5 rubrics (note: Elementary Task 4 has only 3) and each rubric has 5 levels of scoring. Reference the passing requirements for your state here.
What happens if I fail the edTPA?
Candidates who do not meet their educator preparation program or state minimum score requirement may retake the assessment by choosing one the following options:
- Retaking the full assessment: $300 retake fee
- Retaking 3 tasks (Elementary Education only): $300 retake fee
- Retaking 2 tasks: $200 retake fee
- Retaking a single task: $100 retake fee
Candidates should consult with their faculty advisor and/or Relay’s Director of Certification and edTPA coordinator, Chelsea Valdez (cvaldez@relay.edu) before proceeding with a retake to find important information in Guidelines for edTPA Retake Decision-making and Support.
Before registering, candidates should review the Instructions for edTPA Retake. This guide contains important registration and submission information.
New York also provides an "edTPA safety net" via the Multiple Measures Review Process (MMRP) for candidates who fall within 1-2 points of New York’s passing numeric score on their edTPA submission. If you are interested in meeting the edTPA requirement through the MMRP, please connect with your faculty advisor and email support@relay.edu to determine if you are eligible for the edTPA safety net.
