The Relay Residency is an AmeriCorps program. Your participation in the Residency is your service with AmeriCorps.
Relay's AmeriCorps members complete their service hours by successfully completing Relay Residency program requirements, attending Deliberate Practice, participating in at least one additional service event, and completing the classroom duties and responsibilities of your school. Members must serve at least 1700 hours for the full-service term. Relay Residents will easily meet this minimum requirement through their daily responsibilities and any service events. The Relay AmeriCorps Team tracks your service hours — you are not required to submit timesheets.
All AmeriCorps members must have the AmeriCorps logo visible in the classroom while serving. Relay’s AmeriCorps team will distribute swag to each Relay campus once enrollment is finalized. Campuses will be responsible for distributing swag to Relay Residents. You will also be given an “AmeriCorps Serves Here” poster that must be displayed in your classroom.
AmeriCorps member must not participate in any prohibited activities while completing service hours
Relay AmeriCorps members are required to participate in one additional service event throughout the year. There will be specific event opportunities for Veteran’s Day, MLK Jr. Day Weekend and AmeriCorps Week in March. Stay tuned for more information on these opportunities!
Lastly, you will be required to review, sign, and submit documentation the AmeriCorps Team may request of you throughout the service year. This may include but not limited to: enrollment paperwork, Midterm, and End of Term Evaluations, data collection, and Exiting paperwork.
