How can I access my email?
You can access your email in two ways. 1. Visit portal.office.com or 2. Visit relay1.okta.com. If you use relay1.okta.com, click on the Outlook/Office365 link.
What is the naming convention of Relay email addresses?
All Relay students will be issued an email address with the following convention: FirstName.LastName@student.relay.edu (e.g. Jane.Doe@student.relay.edu.) Relay will use the First and Last names of students that are currently in our official student information system to generate the email addresses.

What is Outlook 365 (O365)?
Office 365 is a cloud-based subscription email service from Microsoft and provided by Relay.
Do I need to install it on my laptop?
You don't need to install O365, you can simply access it using your favorite browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, Edge, or Internet Explorer. Just go to Portal.office.com and log in using your Relay email address and your Outlook password. If you are using a Windows computer, you probably have a local app. If you have the Outlook app on your desktop and/or would prefer to use it, you are permitted to do so. You can search for it using the search box and use the same username and password.
Is O365 available for mobile devices?
O365 offers apps for Android and iOS, which you can download to your phone and/or tablets. You can find a guide to install Outlook in your mobile device here.

Will O365 work with the version of Microsoft Office that is already on my computer?
Yes, it will. O365 is backward compatible with all versions of Office that may be currently installed on your computer, including Office 2013 and 2016.
How much storage comes with my account?
The available quota is 50GB. We are confident this will be more than enough for your needs. If you run out of space, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
How do I read emails from my Relay account using your own mail?
Go to portal.office.com, sign in to your account and go to Settings > Mail> Forward > add your alternative account. We highly recommend that you leave a copy of retrieved messages on your Relay account. Also, we suggest labeling incoming messages from your Relay-issued account and redirect them to a folder. If you reply to an email that has been forwarded to you, you are ONLY replying to the account that forwarded the original email. You can see a tutorial with images here.
Am I required to have a Relay issued email account?
Yes. This is Relay’s new strategy to improve communication. However, you can forward the emails to a preferred or personal email account using the instructions here.
How will this change how I sign in to all of my Relay apps?
The new address will replace the previous when logging to your Okta apps. Your password will remain the same unless you opt to change it.
When will this change happen?
This change will happen during the week of February 3 once you have signed the User Agreement.
What actions do I need to take to be issued a Relay student email address?
You will need to sign an electronic User Agreement and you will need to click on the email activation link that you will receive on February 5.
If I reset my password, how long will it take to reactivate?
It is usually instantaneous but it can take up to 40 minutes.
Can I use this email for deals and discounts available to those with a “.edu” email address?
