As of Monday, March 16th, Relay Newark pivoted to online instruction in response to the evolving COVID-19 outbreak and to ensure graduate student learning is not interrupted. We also have temporarily closed our administrative office, though staff and faculty are continuing to work remotely.
Please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org for any additional questions.
FOR INCOMING CANDIDATES
The deadline to apply for Relay Newark programs for the 2020-21 school year can be found here.
Applications must be complete – including receipt of transcripts and recommendation form(s) – to be processed for admissions. Please note that Relay is currently unable to receive hard copy transcripts. Please see here for information on how to submit your transcripts to Relay; see here for guidance if COVID-19 has impacted your undergraduate transcript or graduation date. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis.
Incoming candidates are required to pass their Praxis Certification Exams by August 15, 2020. Passing the Praxis is required in order to fully matriculate to Relay.
We want to assure you that we are proactively reaching out to state agencies and testing companies for guidance related to the Praxis testing requirement in light of COVID-19.
As of April 3rd, the New Jersey Department of Education confirmed that all incoming students must still pass their Praxis exams prior to matriculation.
While testing centers are currently closed, The Educational Testing Service (ETS) will begin providing a Praxis At Home option for some licensure tests, as soon as Friday, May 15. This option may provide a solution to some incoming students who have not been able to secure in-person test seats. As such, we encourage all incoming Relay candidates to use this option, registering by June 1st to take an exam in June. Please review the Praxis At Home Guide for additional information on at home testing requirements and registration.
Please note that ETS is currently waiving rescheduling fees. Applicants can find additional guidance from ETS here for the latest information regarding testing and rescheduling an exam. ETS has also been in contact with all previously scheduled test registrants via email to outline the next steps. To reschedule your testing appointment at no additional cost due to COVID-19, test takers must call the Praxis Customer Services number at 800-772-9476. Office hours are 8 am to 7:45 pm Monday - Friday EST.
