As of Wednesday, March 25th, Relay Atlanta pivoted to online instruction in response to the evolving COVID-19 outbreak and to ensure graduate student learning is not interrupted. We also have temporarily closed our administrative office, though staff and faculty are continuing to work remotely.
Please reach out to support@relay.edu for any additional questions.
FOR INCOMING CANDIDATES
Relay Admissions
The deadline to apply for Relay Atlanta’s Teacher Residency for the 2020-21 school year can be found here.
Applications must be complete – including receipt of transcripts and recommendation form(s) – to be processed for admissions. Please note that Relay is currently unable to receive hard copy transcripts. Please see here for information on how to submit your transcripts to Relay; see here for guidance if COVID-19 has impacted your undergraduate transcript or graduation date. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis.
Teacher Certification for Current Students
Candidates may seek a one-year induction certificate if they have not yet passed their GACE Content assessment, which allows additional time to complete requirements. The GaPSC has voted to eliminate the edTPA as a program completion requirement. Georgia’s Professional Standards Commission Coronavirus (COVID-19) certification guidance can be accessed here.
Teacher Certification for Incoming Students
Many test centers opened as of May 20th. ETS – the company that operates GACE exams – will allow you reschedule your test at no additional cost; see here for more information. Please monitor updates on the ETS webpage for updates regarding GACE testing center closures.
Certification candidates are still expected to complete the following within their first year of Relay's program to receive their initial Georgia certification.
- Submit official transcripts from all prior institutions - including one showing degree was conferred
- Pre-Service Application Requirements:
- Georgia Educator Ethics Assessment
- Personal Affirmations Completed and Saved within MyPSC
