You should have received this COVID-19 email directly from Chester Spellman, the Director AmeriCorps State and National - Corporation for National Community Service (CNCS). Relay AmeriCorps echoes the sentiments of the AmeriCorps national community. Since the delivery of that email, Congress passed the CARES Act, which includes specific relief to AmeriCorps programs and members.
As a Relay AmeriCorps member during this unprecedented time, please be assured that you remain on track to complete a full-service term with eligibility to receive your full Segal education award.
- If you are a member participating in distance learning, you will continue to earn traditional service hours through teleservice. You have received instructions to sign Relay’s Teleservice Policy via DocuSign. If you have e-signed that document and continue to engage in distance learning with your school, you are on track to earning your full amount of service hours.
- If you are a member at a placement school not offering distance learning, you are covered by the CARES Act. Relay AmeriCorps continues to track hours based on an approved COVID-19 Alternative Timekeeping System that includes training, planning, and prep hours for Relay graduate coursework. You should also sign the Relay Teleserve Policy via DocuSign.
