As of Monday, March 16th, Relay Louisiana pivoted to online instruction in response to the evolving COVID-19 outbreak and to ensure graduate student learning is not interrupted. We also have temporarily closed our administrative office in both Baton Rouge and New Orleans, though staff and faculty are continuing to work remotely.
Please see the most up-to-date information regarding Louisiana’s COVID-19 response for prospective students below. As always, if you have questions please contact us at email@example.com.
The deadline to apply for Relay Louisiana, Baton Rouge and New Orleans based programs, for the 2020-21 school year can be found here.
Applications must be complete – including receipt of transcripts and recommendation form(s) – to be processed for admissions. Please note that Relay is currently unable to receive hard copy transcripts. Please see here for information on how to submit your transcripts to Relay; see here for guidance if COVID-19 has impacted your undergraduate transcript or graduation date. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis.
Incoming candidates are expected to pass their Praxis Core exam or upload qualifying exemption documents as part of their admissions checklist.
At this point in time, the Louisiana Department of Education is still requiring the Praxis Core (or exemption documents) to be provided to Relay at the time of admissions.

FOR CURRENT GRADUATE STUDENTS
All Relay Louisiana classes for the current 2019-20 school will be conducted online for the remainder of the spring term. Current graduate students can expect to receive email communications from Relay Louisiana faculty with additional information and details about upcoming classes.
Please look for more information to be posted here, as well as shared in the email communications from faculty, regarding master’s defenses, summer classes and beyond.
We want to assure you that we are proactively reaching out to state agencies and testing companies to keep a close eye on guidance related to your teacher certification.
As a reminder, current graduate students who currently hold a practitioner license are required to pass the Principles of Learning and Teaching Praxis and, if applicable, the Teaching Reading: Elementary Praxis test prior to your license expiring and prior to adding new endorsements.
We have been notified by ETS - the company that operates Praxis exams - that testing centers will be closed until at least April 16th, with some already closing until April 30th. You can reschedule your test at no additional cost; see here for more information. Please monitor updates on the ETS webpage for updates regarding Praxis testing center closures.
While testing centers are currently closed, we encourage applicants to continue studying for exams and signing up for exams in late May or early June.
Relay Tuition / Financial Options
Federal Loans: All borrowers with federally held student loans will automatically have their interest rates set to 0% for a period of at least 60 days. In addition, borrowers now have the option to suspend their payments without accruing interest for at least two months to allow them greater flexibility during the national emergency. To request this forbearance, borrowers should contact their loan servicer online or by phone.
Payment Plan Options: If you are struggling to make your tuition payment, please contact Student Financial Services at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Monday, April 10. Contacting SFS will help them advise you on the next steps regarding your outstanding tuition to avoid any possible accrued fees, make adjustments to your payment plan dates before the next installment, and help walk you through your options.
