In response to COVID-19 suspending many normal service activities, Relay AmeriCorps created a COVID-19 Teleservice Policy. It states that members engaging in distance learning will continue to accrue AmeriCorps service hours in line with Relay’s approved Alternative Timekeeping System. It also states all approved teleservice activities must be aligned with Federal rules and regulations and must not include any prohibited activities.
All teleservice hours will be in line with our typical service activities:
- Instruction provided to pre k-12 public school students
- Planning and preparation to provide that instruction
- Training to execute instructional planning, preparation, and delivery
Given that many Relay AmeriCorps members shifted to some degree of teleservice, the Relay AmeriCorps Teleservice policy is included in each Member Service Agreement to review and e-sign in DocuSign. Signed copies of this document will be saved to member files.
