In order to obtain your certificate, you will need to complete an application and pay the TEA fee by following these steps:
- Log into your TEAL account.
- Follow the directions found here to complete the application for a standard certificate.
- Pay the application fee within 48 hours.
Once your application is in the system, Relay will verify completion of all program requirements, and issue an institutional recommendation. To avoid delays, make sure to submit your documentation to My Checklist as you complete each requirement.
You will receive an e-mail confirming when Relay recommends your certificate. Once the recommendation has been issued and the fingerprinting process is complete, the teaching certificate should issue immediately. You can log into your ECOS for Educators account using your TEAL Log-in and confirm that your certificate issues after you have received Relay’s recommendation.
Relay will monitor certificate status and will provide support to candidates with fingerprinting issues. However, the ultimate responsibility for following through with the certificate application, fingerprinting, and certificate confirmation process lies with the candidate. Failure to meet deadlines for the application, payment of fees, or fingerprinting may put a candidate’s certification and employment at risk.
