Relay requires more from its students than simply completing the curriculum. Relay students must demonstrate that they have mastery of the knowledge and skills they have learned at Relay and are using these assets to successfully lead their PK–12 students to meaningful and measurable achievement gains. In order to graduate from Relay and earn a degree, students are required to:
- Successfully complete their Capstone;
- MAT: Lead PK–12 students to the equivalent of at least one year’s worth of academic gains*[1]
- MAT in Special Education & Advanced Certificate in Special Education: Completion of Special Education Capstone
- Earn a minimum grade of 70% (or a C-) in all courses in their programs of study**; and
- Earn a cumulative 2.7 grade point average (GPA). Overall GPA is a weighted cumulative average of all course grades in the program to date.
*Please note that for the academic year 2021–22, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, students are not required to demonstrate one year’s worth of academic gains for their students. Instead, students will complete the academic and culturally responsive teaching (CRT) pathway assignments.
**Please note that in some locations there are additional Educator Preparation Program (EPP) stipulations that are required for program completion; please see Education Preparation Program Completion and Licensure Requirements for details on your location.
