Program Purpose Statement
Relay’s Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program is designed to prepare individuals who have already completed a bachelor’s degree for a career in an early childhood, elementary, or secondary general-education classroom. The MAT requires both coursework and clinical experience in schools. The MAT meets educational requirements for educator licensure in multiple states. Refer to the Educator Licensure Pathways by State and Program page on the Relay website for details.
Program Length
The Relay Master of Arts in Teaching program is a 36-credit-hour program. Most students complete the program over the course of two academic calendar years (six terms; summer, fall, and spring) of part-time study (enrolled in fewer than nine credits but at least four credits per term).
