Students who exit from the program during the academic year due to one of the following compelling personal circumstances may earn a partial AmeriCorps Education Award or Relay Residency Scholarship, pending campus, Registrar’s Office, and SFS review:
- A participant’s documented disability or serious illness;
- Disability, serious illness, or death, including death of an immediate participant's family member, if this makes completing a term unreasonably difficult or impossible;
- Unforeseeable circumstances such as a natural disaster, a strike, relocation of a spouse, or non renewal or closing of a project/program; and/or
- Military service obligations.
Students who exit from the program due to academic failure at either Gateway evaluation 1 or Gateway evaluation 2 are responsible for only their out-of-pocket balances. Deferred tuition and associated unearned awards will be removed or waived.
