Students’ final course grades are a percentage (shown on Canvas, Relay’s learning-management system) with a letter grade (shown on transcripts); for example, 85% (B). Final course grades are calculated based on performance on various assessments. A typical course has three or four assessments, ranging from a smaller, initial assessment (such as a plan for communicating with parents) worth perhaps 10–15% of the overall course grade to a more robust final assessment (such as a lesson plan, video, student work, and reflection) worth perhaps 30–40% of the overall course grade. Students receive feedback and grades on each assessment from Relay faculty members using program-created rubrics.
