Throughout your time at Relay, having access to the right technology will be important for the completion of coursework, accessing resources, and submitting assignments. The following are required for your success:
Laptop or Computer- The specific requirements can be found here. Students are welcome to use an employer-provided laptop for their Relay coursework, if a laptop is provided by their network.
Strong Internet Connection- Ideal internet speeds for participation in online course work are 3-5 Mbps. You can check your internet speed here. Strong internet connection is important for participating in online coursework (synchronous and asynchronous), accessing coursework, and submitting assignments.
Microsoft Office- Microsoft Word and Excel are used for various assignments. Other compatible programs might be acceptable (depending on the assignment), but may encounter formatting issues upon submission.
Note: If you do not have Microsoft Suite, you may be eligible for a free or discounted Office 365 account offered by Microsoft. Learn more here.
Device with a Camera (eg: laptop, phone, flip camera)- Relay graduate students will need to record themselves teaching, to submit for Relay course assignments. Please email your faculty advisor if you need access to a device with a camera; there will be a limited supply available at the Relay Washington, DC office.
