On September 1, 2021, Indiana will transition to a new test vendor for educator licensure. Prior to this, the Indiana Department of Education required licensure candidates to complete Pearson Education’s Indiana CORE Assessments but will fully transition to Educational Testing Services (ETS) Praxis series on September 1.
The Indiana Department of Education announced that many of the approved Praxis content and pedagogy licensure tests approved for use in Indiana will be available for early administration starting July 1, 2021. Registration and preparation materials, including one free interactive practice test per test area, will be open and available in mid-May. (More details about how to access the registration site and preparation materials will be provided later this spring.)
During the transition period between July 1 and August 31, both the CORE tests and many—but not all—of the Praxis tests will be available in parallel. This allows candidates who are trying to complete CORE tests to do so before August 31, or candidates may elect to begin taking the Praxis tests required for licensure.

Here you will find a list of Indiana’s licensure content and pedagogy areas, the corresponding Praxis tests, and Indiana’s Praxis cut scores. The tests highlighted in green will be available starting July 1. Tests not highlighted will have cut scores and will be available on September 1, unless a later date is noted.
Additionally, Indiana’s Office of Educator Licensing will honor most Indiana CORE tests passed by August 31 even if the test taker does not apply for licensure until a later date. However, there are five content areas that currently require multiple CORE content tests that have special test transition requirements. See here to learn about content areas with special transition requirements.
