The National Commencement Ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate students and their accomplishments as they prepare to complete degree or program requirements with the Relay Graduate School of Education. This article answers commonly asked questions about commencement and will continue to be updated as additional details are confirmed for this year’s ceremony. Which Relay locations and/or programs participate in the virtual commencement? |
All Relay graduates and candidates who are completing requirements in Academic Year 2022-23 are invited to attend the virtual commencement ceremony. |
What can I expect in the virtual commencement ceremony? |
This ceremony allows students to celebrate their educational accomplishments and reflect on their academic journey. You can expect to hear from other graduate speakers, Relay leaders, and keynote speakers. Specific agenda items will be shared closer to the date of the event. |
How do I attend the virtual commencement ceremony? |
Students will be able to join this year’s ceremony by going to https://relaygrad2023.com/. You can join from a computer or mobile device, and there will also be opportunities to engage with your cohort through live chat. |
Can I invite others to the virtual commencement ceremony, and if so, how? |
You can share the invitation link with family, loved ones, school colleagues, friends, and others! All are welcome to attend! Feel free to share the invite link with friends and family. |
Does commencement mean I’ve graduated from Relay? |
No, the commencement ceremony may include students who are still completing degree-granting programs, advanced certification programs, and/or certification programs. In most cases, students will not yet have received confirmation of graduation or program completion by the actual date of commencement. |
When will I graduate, if not at the commencement ceremony? |
You will receive an email from the Registrar’s Office with your graduation status in the weeks following the commencement ceremony, around mid-July. Graduation includes recognition that you have completed all necessary degree or program requirements, including the award of your diploma if applicable. Will I be able to order regalia (cap and gown) for the virtual commencement? |
Students in the class of 2023 can now order regalia and other memorabilia to mark their graduation from Relay Graduate School of Education. Please visit https://collegegrad.herffjones.com/ and follow the prompts to select your graduate school and campus. From there you will be able to place your order and Herff Jones will ship directly to your home. |
When will I receive my diploma? |
Diplomas are only awarded after completing all requirements of your program, and if eligible, you will receive details on how to order and receive your diploma in the Program Completion Email. Please note that commencement is not recognition of program completion or degree, and most eligible students will not receive their diploma until after the commencement ceremony. |
