Effective for school year 2022–2023, Relay charges tuition at a $750-per-credit rate for any course(s) students need to repeat, opt into for additional coursework, and/or when they fall below half-time enrollment in a term for their program/program of study. Course load per program/program of study is included in the Academic Programs Guide and the Academic Catalog.
Repeat coursework is defined as a course or equivalent course students were previously registered for and must attempt to complete again. In some circumstances, students may want to register for additional courses (e.g., to boost their GPA) for a given term. When this happens, the student is charged tuition at a $750-per-credit rate for these additional courses in addition to their regular term fee tuition. During exceptional cases when a student falls below the regular course load for their program/program of study (e.g., only taking a core class instead of both core and content), the student will be charged tuition at a $750-per-credit rate.
Students charged tuition at the per-credit rate will be held to the same refund calendar and billing timeline as other enrolled students. Students must fully cover their tuition in order to enroll in the term or graduate. Students who do not fully cover their tuition by the due date risk being administratively withdrawn from the program.
Exceptions to paying tuition at the per-credit rate for repeated courses may be made for students who take approved medical or maternity leaves of absence and must repeat coursework they did not previously finish. For school year 2022–2023, students may also qualify for additional institutional financial aid for an effective rate of $275 tuition per credit under the following circumstances:
- Retaking coursework from the Fall 2021 term and prior, and
- Reenrolling at Relay GSE under half-time
