Students who determine it is not possible or in their best interest to complete the coursework in which they are currently enrolled can withdraw from Relay. To initiate a withdrawal, students should first discuss their intentions with their school leader and their advisor to determine how and when to exit, as there may be professional, academic, certification/licensure, and financial consequences to early withdrawal from the program. After learning the consequences of early withdrawal, students who wish to withdraw must complete a withdrawal form. Directions for accessing and submitting the form are available in Support Center. Students are still enrolled at Relay, with corresponding academic, financial, and administrative responsibilities, until the withdrawal form is processed and they receive email verification of the withdrawal from the Registrar’s Office. Failure to attend class or pay tuition does not constitute an official withdrawal. The effective date will be the date indicated in the withdrawal form.
The Registrar’s Office will notify students via email when their withdrawal request is processed. Student Financial Services will follow up with students about how to pay any outstanding Relay tuition and fees.
Upon withdrawal, any outstanding incomplete grades will change to the current, standing grade in the gradebook. Additionally, in most states, Relay is required to remove or expire provisional level certificates/licenses if a student is withdrawn from their educator preparation program.
