To participate in any of Relay's programs, students are required to have access to a computer with a personal login. Relay does not have a preference or a recommendation for the type of computer used.
Students using a Personal Computer are required to have Windows 10 or above and Office 2016 and above. Students using a Mac are required to have Mac OS 11 or above and Microsoft Office version 2019 or above.
All students are required to have the latest version of Firefox, Chrome, or Safari.
Google Chromebooks and Apple iPad are not compatible with the Relay Technology Platform as of this writing.
Student Support for Technology
Students can contact us for technology support by emailing support@relay.edu or filling out a form at https://support.relay.edu/hc/en-us/requests/new. When students contact support@relay.edu for technology support, we ask that they please share as much detailed information as possible about their technology problem. That way, Relay can promptly address concerns and provide effective support.
There are two key pieces of information students can include that will help Relay solve their problems more quickly:
- A screenshot of the computer screen showing the error message or problem. (For more information about how to create a screenshot, click here.)
- The web browser name and version. Visit this page to see key details about your computer, including your browser.
A common troubleshooting step is to clear your web browser's cache and cookies. This solves many common problems. You can learn more about that step here.
Please Note: For Canvas-related issues, please use Canvas's 24-hour support, available within Canvas, that can be accessed by clicking the Help icon. Twenty-four-hour support is available within Canvas, enabling answers to common questions, contact information for the Canvas Support Hotline (Students), and live chats with Canvas Support.
Available Technology Trainings for Students
Technology training is available as part of GEN-101 and EDU-500 courses available in Canvas and is required to be completed before beginning official academic coursework.
For timely responses, students should contact a faculty member via email, support@relay.edu, or through Canvas messaging.
