New Student Orientation
Student orientation sessions are Relay’s first opportunity to engage with enrolled students and welcome them to the institution. Orientation sessions help students understand Relay’s mission and provide an overview of key resources, support services, and academic expectations. Orientation prepares students for success at Relay and to serve their Birth–Grade 12 students. The goals of Relay’s new student orientation sessions are to ensure that all students (a) feel welcome and affirmed at the institution, (b) are familiar with and ready to contribute to the Relay community, and (c) understand their path toward successfully completing their academic program. These sessions are optional, but highly recommended.
State-Specific Orientation
State-specific orientation sessions provide Relay students with important information about the certification, licensure, and program requirements unique to the state in which they are teaching. These sessions introduce key policies, expectations, and resources that support students in meeting state-specific requirements while progressing through their Relay program. State-specific orientations help students understand how their coursework, clinical experiences, and certification or licensure processes align within their state context. The goals of Relay’s state-specific orientation sessions are to ensure that all students (a) understand the certification/licensure requirements in their state, (b) are familiar with the policies, processes, and resources that support their progress toward certification/licensure, and (c) are introduced to how to navigate their state-specific pathway toward successful completion of their academic program. These sessions are optional, but highly recommended.
