Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can I upload an attachment to be included with my transcript?

Yes. There is a section on the order page where you can attach a cover letter or form to be sent with your transcript. If you have additional or special requests associated with the attachment, you should contact the Registrar’s Office at [email protected]

Where can I find the transcript addendum on an electronic transcript (i.e. the transcript’s legend/key)?

The transcript addendum serves as a legend or key for recipients to better interpret the information on the transcript. Transcript addendums are included with each transcript. If you choose to receive an electronic copy, the addendum will be attached to the PDF containing the transcript. It’s recommended that you use an up-to-date version of a PDF reader to minimize viewing errors. If you choose to receive a printed copy, the addendum will be enclosed with the transcript.

I need a specific letter to accompany my transcript. How can I request one?

If you need an enrollment verification letter to be sent with your transcript, you can submit a request for one here. In the additional details field of the form, you can indicate it needs to be sent with your transcript.

If you need another type of letter, such as a program completion letter, we recommend you contact us at [email protected] so the appropriate team can further assist you.

How and when can I receive my transcript after grades for the current term have posted?

You can place an order for a transcript on the order form by selecting to receive it after your grades have posted. Your order will be processed after grades are made available; grades are typically available by the start of the following term. Please note, the Registrar’s Office will send you a student academic progress (SAP) email informing you of your progress. Alternatively, you can wait to place an order after receiving your SAP email. In the meantime, you can view your grades on Canvas while you await your official grades to be posted to your record.

How and when can I receive my transcript after my degree has been conferred/awarded?

You can place an order for a transcript on the order form by selecting to receive it after your degree has been conferred. Your order will be processed after your degree is conferred – typically by the start of the following term. Please note, the Registrar’s Office will send you a program completion email to let you know when you have successfully completed your program. Alternatively, you can wait to place an order after receiving this email.

What if I have one legal name? How do I enter that on the order form?

If you have one legal name, please add “NFN” for No First Name or “NLN” for No Last Name in the appropriate field.

Can I request an unofficial transcript?

Students in Relay’s updated programmatic offerings (beginning Summer 2022 in CT, TX, TN, and IL and Summer 2023 in all other locations) may access their unofficial transcript on the student portal. Once logged in, navigate to My Academics on the left, and click on Unofficial Transcript.

Students enrolled in Relay’s original programmatic offerings for which the last term is Summer 2024 (except for Relay NY extended enrollment, which remains through Spring 2025) may calculate their GPA with the assistance of Relay’s GPA predictor took found here. Additionally, Relay can provide an enrollment verification letter if that would be helpful, which includes dates of enrollment, program completion outcome/enrollment status, and additional details, as requested. Otherwise, students in Relay’s original programmatic offerings may place a transcript order here.
