Orientation & Summer Session, Academic Year 2024-2025

Here is an overview of what you can expect for your first term at Relay. You can find even more Support for Newly Admitted students on Relay’s support center. If you have any questions about this information or anything else, please contact your advisor at [email protected].

What?
  • In your first term, Summer 1, you’ll experience orientation, preparation for state licensure/certification, your first Relay coursework, and skill-building around the foundations of teaching and learning.
When?
  • Please visit our Preparing for Relay Programs and add your applicable Summer 2024 Session dates to your calendar.  Please note: Teach for America (TFA) students should refer to the summer dates provided by TFA.

    • Summer 1 term is a requirement for Relay students and contributes to credits required for licensure and/or degree, depending on your program type. The registrar team will schedule your first-term classes. If you see a scheduling conflict, please contact your advisor at [email protected] to explore other options.

    • You can view your summer class schedule on your My Relay Portal, which is accessible through your Myapps dashboard.

    • All class logistics and potential pre-work will be shared one week prior to the start of each course from your professor to your student email address and via the course page in Canvas.

Where?
  • Most Summer 1 coursework will be delivered fully online. You must have a program-aligned instructional role within the geographic location that aligns with the campus to which you are enrolled but will take the majority of your classes via online instruction.

  • To learn more and prepare for online coursework, please click here

  • You will join Summer 1 via Zoom, and the link will be in the email from your course professor and on the course page on Canvas.
