Master of Arts in Teaching with or without Certification

A 2-year, 32 credit, Master of Arts in Teaching program leading to eligibility for a Level 1 Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate.

Relay Teaching Residency Pathway - Post-Baccalaureate Certification Program
-
The residency pathway supports aspiring teachers, offering a supportive gradual on-ramp into the profession.

In the first year, students serve as teaching residents, completing a year-long apprenticeship alongside a lead teacher.

After the first three terms and completing all EPP requirements, students who meet eligibility requirements can apply for their Level 1 Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate.

In the second year, students teach as a teacher of record (lead teacher) under a Level 1 Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate.

Non-Resident Pathway - Teacher Intern Certification Program
-
This pathway is designed for students who will be a teacher of record (lead teacher) in the first year of enrollment in the MAT program.

Students will serve as a teacher of record (lead teacher) under an Intern Certificate for the first year of the program. After the first three terms of the program, students who meet eligibility requirements can apply for their Level 1 Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate.

Students who are not seeking licensure may also enroll in the Master of Arts of teaching through the resident or non-resident pathway as a degree-only student.

Pennsylvania Post-Baccalaureate Certification Program - Relay Teaching Residents

A 3-term/19-credit non-degree program designed to prepare teacher candidates for licensure while serving as the teacher-in-residence in a Pennsylvania school.

Prospective students must have completed a bachelor's degree and meet admissions requirements for the Post-Baccalaureate Certification Program.

Successful program completers will be eligible for their Level 1 Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate upon meeting all requirements.
Pennsylvania Teacher Intern Certification Program - Non-Residents

A 3-term/19-credit non-degree program designed to prepare teacher candidates for licensure while serving as the teacher of record in a Pennsylvania school.

Prospective students must have completed a bachelor's degree and meet admissions requirements for the Teacher Intern Certification Program.

Candidates will serve as the teacher of record on an Intern Certificate while enrolled.

Advanced Certificate in Special Education

Relay offers an Advanced Certificate in Special Education program for certified educators who wish to expand their skill set to teach all learners. This is a 4-term, 21- credit post-baccalaureate certificate program.

This program offers an Advanced Certificate Only and Advanced Certificate + Certification program if the student already holds a Level I Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate in a general education content area.

Prospective students must hold an active Level I or II Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate to enroll in the Advanced Certificate in Special Education program.
