Transition Point 1: Illinois Graduate Alternative Licensure Program 

Educator Preparation Program Admission: 

Relay Application - EPP Items Deadline: 

Summer Term Start: July 26, 2024

Transition Point Deadline: August 3, 2024

 

Applicants for admission to the Illinois Graduate Alternative Licensure Program must demonstrate meeting the following criteria: 

 

Bachelor’s Degree:

Hold a Bachelor’s degree from an institution of higher education that has institutional (formerly regional) accreditation through one of the U.S. Department of Education’s approved accreditation agencies: HLC, MSCHE, NECHE, NWCCU, SACSCOC, WSCUC. Verify your institution’s accreditation status on the Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs here.

 

Minimum GPA:

Have at least a cumulative 2.50 GPA on all coursework previously attempted at an accredited institution of higher education from which the bachelor’s degree was conferred.

  • Applicants with an undergraduate GPA below the Relay minimum of 2.50 may apply to be admitted to Relay’s Illinois educator preparation programs via exception to Relay’s GPA policy who have:
    • Earned a 2.50 GPA in their last 60 credit hours of their undergraduate program, or
    • Earned a master’s degree or higher with a GPA of 2.50 or higher.
  • Applicants who do not meet the above criteria may be prompted to have a secondary recommendation submitted that will be used to evaluate their eligibility for admissions to Relay. 

Subject-Specific Coursework: 

Meet minimum credit requirements for the endorsement sought.

 

Demonstration of Content Knowledge:

Pass the ILTS Content Area Exam(s) required for the endorsement sought.
