  • Making a To-Do List

    • Put in order of: Priority, Length of Task, and Deadline

    • Moving to-do lists to your calendar

    • Block out times for your tasks

Self-Care Habits

It takes about 2 months to form a habit. When better than now to start forming habits that will help you succeed throughout your graduate student experience.

Try forming 1-2 new daily habits. Some ideas: 

Mental wellness is essential to a great teaching career. When teachers are their best, balanced selves, they can better support their students. As an incoming student, we highly recommend developing practices of self-care that will help you be your best self for your students and help you succeed in graduate school. 

Hobby Time

Unleash your creativity and recharge your soul by pursuing a hobby. Hobby time is a great way for introverts to have "me" time and extroverts to have social time. 

 

Support System

Find your cheerleaders. Past Relay participants have mentioned that reaching out to their families, church members, friends, or co-workers has helped them overcome their own obstacles. To learn more about buiding a support system with a great network of people, click here.
