There are two potential pathways to receiving this degree.

 

Resident Path

Program Duration: 6 terms

Degree Received: MAT + certification

Number of Credits: 32 credits

Total Tuition Cost: $27,200

Timeline

  • Year 1: Full-time teaching position that requires instructional certification authorized by the CE issued to the student in their endorsement area
  • Year 2: Must be teacher of record in second year with a full-time teaching position that requires instructional certification authorized by the CE issued to the student in their endorsement area

If you are not seeking certification in New Jersey, you may enroll in either pathway as a degree-only student. At the end of the program, you will receive an MAT, not a certification.

Advanced Certificate in Special Education

Relay offers an Advanced Certificate in Special Education program for certified educators who wish to expand their skill set to teach all learners. This program offers an Advanced Certificate Only and Advanced Certificate + Certification program if the student already holds a CEAS or New Jersey Standard Certificate.   

 

Program Duration: 4 terms

Degree Received: Advanced certification in Special Education

Number of Credits: 21 credits

Total Tuition Cost: $17,850

Timeline

  • Year 1: Teacher of Record position with the ability to conduct direct-instruction to a minimum of six students who are officially classified as having disabilities, and the capacity to tutor a small group of students for the entirety of the school year.
