What transcript formats does Relay accept?
We accept official transcripts only in both electronic and hard-copy transcripts. Learn more about what qualifies as an official transcript and how to send one here.
How do I know if Relay has received my transcript?
On the Admissions Checklist of your Status Page you'll see an item called "Staff Reviewed: Official Transcript Showing Bachelor's Degree Earned." This item tracks whether we've confirmed your transcript demonstrates that you've earned your bachelor's degree. It will show as "Awaiting" until we've both received and reviewed your transcript.
My graduation date won't appear on my transcript until closer to the deadline. How can I meet this requirement?
Transcripts must include a bachelor's degree conferral date, so if you recently graduated, check with your registrar to see when your degree conferral will appear.
If your conferral date will not appear on your transcript in time to meet Relay’s deadline, you may submit an official transcript from the institution where you're currently enrolled and earning your bachelor's degree to be conditionally admitted.
Upon being conditionally admitted, it's your responsibility to submit a transcript showing that you've earned your bachelor's degree AND the date on which it was conferred by the necessary deadline(s).

The institution I attended is closed or unable to send transcripts. What can I do?
If an institution has closed and you need your transcripts, we strongly advise searching online for any websites associated with your institution. They'll often have a link to a third-party record-keeping company or a phone number you can call to request your transcript. If you're still having difficulty, we suggest contacting your state's Department of Education.
If you have additional questions, email [email protected].
Does Relay need my transcript from the institution where I studied abroad?
Applicants who have taken study abroad courses may be required to submit additional transcripts to meet our admission requirements. Once all official transcripts have been received, reach out to [email protected] for additional information.
I have a bursar hold at my previous institution and they won't send an official transcript. Can I submit an unofficial transcript?
No. You must submit an official transcript that demonstrates you've earned your bachelor's degree in order to be admitted to Relay. This means the transcript must show that you've earned your bachelor's degree AND the date on which it was conferred. Unofficial transcripts will not be accepted.
To apply, you're required to submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended (even where a degree was not earned).
Contact your institution to see if a payment plan or agreement can be established so you can obtain your transcript
