AI Tools for Exam Prep
The LEP team is beta testing two AI-powered tools to support your exam prep:
- Licensure Exam Preparation Virtual Content Expert: offers one-to-one tutoring support designed to help you build content and pedagogical knowledge.
- My Study Coach: helps you identify your areas of focus and generates a study plan to close gaps in your content knowledge.
As you use either tool, we'd love your feedback through the AI Tools Feedback Form so we can keep improving them.
Things to know
- Because these tools are in beta, keep a few guardrails in mind: never share personally identifiable information (your name, email address, or anyone else's) with either tool;
- Remember that neither tool has access to your specific lessons or assignments, only publicly available licensure exam prep materials;
- Always double-check AI output for accuracy, since you know your own context best.
If you'd rather work with a real person than a self-paced platform, our LEP team also offers live, individualized support.
One-to-One Academic Coaching
Our One-to-One Academic Coaching program matches you with an academic coach or content expert in your field of study for support tailored to your needs and your specific exam, at no cost. The program also supports multilingual learners.
- Eligible endorsement areas: Early Childhood; Elementary Education; Middle Grades/Adolescent English Language Arts; Middle Grades/Adolescent Mathematics; Middle Grades/Secondary Science; Social Studies; Students with Disabilities (EC-12)/Special Education
🖱️TO REQUEST A COACH: Complete the One-to-One Academic Coaching Request Form. The LEP team will confirm your eligibility, and Dr. Holliday will follow up with next steps.
Things to know
- Because academic coaches have limited availability, we can't guarantee a coach for every request — enrolled students and alumni receive priority.
- Once you're matched with a coach, be ready to start right away and attend your sessions consistently. Questions about coaching can be sent to [email protected].
Content-Specific Office Hours
Each Wednesday, Licensure Exam Preparation Academic Coaches host content-specific office hours where you can drop in for support in your content area. As of this writing, sessions run the first through fourth Wednesday of the month from 6:00–7:00 PM ET through July 2026, on this Zoom link.
Note: this schedule reflects the most recent information available; visit the LEP website for the most current office hours calendar.
Certification Workshops
The LEP team also offers online exam prep workshops covering topics like building a personalized study plan, strategies for selected-response and constructed-response items, and managing test-day mindset and anxiety.
📆For the most current workshop schedule and registration details, visit the Licensure Exam Preparation website,

CERT-500: Licensure Exam Preparation Course
CERT-500 is a four-week licensure exam preparation course for Relay students preparing for licensure exams in select states and endorsement areas.
Classes are led by an exam prep tutor and run small, from 3–20 students, for more individualized support. Every tutor is a content knowledge expert and a certified PK-12 school leader or teacher who knows your exam inside and out.
In the course, you'll review your exam framework, explore study resources, and analyze dozens of test items aligned to your exam's content. You'll also cover self-directed learning habits, research-backed study strategies, test-wise practices, and strategies for managing test anxiety.
How to Enroll
Complete this registration form to enroll. If you have questions, reach out to Relay's Licensure Exam Preparation department chair, Chelsea Valdez, or watch a recording of one of our info sessions.
Things to know:
- CERT-500's available states, endorsement areas, and exam coverage change from year to year — check with the LEP team or your advisor to confirm current offerings for your state and exam.
Praxis Bridge Program
If you've come close to a passing Praxis score but haven't quite reached it, the Praxis Bridge Program may be an option.
Rather than retaking your full exam, the program lets eligible candidates complete a learning module to demonstrate competency and earn a passing score instead.
