What do I have to do after graduation to make sure that my TEACH Grant doesn’t get turned into a loan?

Students who applied for a TEACH Grant were required to read and sign the TEACH Grant Agreement to Serve or Repay which explains the terms and conditions for receiving a TEACH Grant. 

 

By signing the Agreement, you agreed to these terms and conditions and acknowledged that if you did not fulfill the service obligation described in the Agreement, the TEACH Grant funds you received will be converted to a direct loan that you must repay.

 

  • Your first report must be within 120 days of ceasing enrollment at Relay. All subsequent reports must be made annually to FedLoan.

  • You must provide your TEACH Grant servicer with documentation of service.  You can obtain this form from your TEACH Grant servicer. This form must be certified by the chief administrative officer of the school or educational service agency where you taught, and must confirm that during the school year specified on the form:

    • You were a highly qualified teacher;

    • You taught in a low-income school; and

    • More than half of the classes that you taught during the school year were in a high-need field.

Los estudiantes que solicitaron una Beca TEACH debían leer y firmar el Acuerdo de Beca TEACH para Servir o Reembolsar, que explica los términos y condiciones para recibir una subvención TEACH.

 

Al firmar el Acuerdo, usted acepta estos términos y condiciones y reconoce que sí hizo Si no cumple con la obligación de servicio descrita en el Acuerdo, los fondos de la Beca TEACH que recibió se convertirán en un préstamo directo que deberá reembolsar.

 

  • Su primer informe debe realizarse dentro de los 120 días posteriores al cese de su inscripción en Relay. Todos los informes posteriores deben realizarse anualmente para Préstamo Fed.

  • Debe proporcionar a su administrador de la Beca TEACH la documentación del servicio. Puede obtener este formulario a través de su administrador de subvenciones TEACH. Este formulario debe estar certificado por el director administrativo de la escuela o agencia de servicios educativos donde enseñó, y debe confirmar que durante el año escolar especificado en el formulario:

    • Eras un maestro altamente calificado;

    • Enseñaste en una escuela de bajos ingresos; y

    • Más de la mitad de las clases que impartió durante el año escolar fueron en un campo de alta necesidad.
